On Sunday, October 16, a concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Dmitri Hvorostovsky will be held at the Krasnoyarsk airport. It starts at 9.40 a.m.
Denis Grechishkin and Alexander Mikhaliov, baritones of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, will perform for Krasnoyarsk residents and guests of the city. The concert programme includes works performed by Dmitri Hvorostovsky over the years.
The outstanding artist sang Russian songs and art romance songs on the best stages of the world. On the improvised stage of the Krasnoyarsk airport, the songs I Am Not a Prophet by Sergei Rachmaninov, Our Lady in the City by Georgy Sviridov, the driving vocal miniature Dark Eyes to music by Florian Hermann will be performed.
Of course, operatic masterpieces will also be sung. Robert's aria from Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera Iolanta will be performed (Hvorostovsky won the most prestigious competition in the USSR with this work - the Mikhail Glinka Soviet Union Vocal Competition), as well as the Mizgir's aria from The Snow Maiden by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and the Figaro aria from Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart.
The concert programme also includes performances by students of the Children's Art School No.6, where Dmitri Hvorostovsky studied – a vocal ensemble led by Oksana Kozlova. The concert will end with the famous Moscow Nights performed by all the participants of the concert.
