A concert dedicated to Verdi will close the festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov

The Verdi Gala - the last event of the festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov - will be held on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on April 25. Invited vocalists will take part in it: world opera star, mezzo-soprano singer Elena Manistina and guest from Armenia, soprano Elen Yeghiazaryan.

Soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, Honoured Artist of Russia Elena Manistina will perform on the Krasnoyarsk stage the most famous Verdi arias for mezzo: the gypsy Azucena from Il Trovatore and the fortune teller Ulrica from Un Ballo in Maschera. She’ll also perform duets - Aida and Amneris (along with Anna Avakyan), Azucena and Manrico from Il Trovatore (along with Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mergen Sandanov).

The soloist of the youth opera programme of the Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Yerevan, Armenia) Elen Yeghiazaryan will perform iconic arias for the soprano voice: Amelia from Un Ballo in Maschera, Leonora from La Forza del Destino. Elen and the favourite singer of the Krasnoyarsk public Davit Yesayan will close the concert with the duet of Amelia and Ricardo from the opera Un Ballo in Maschera.

The programme will include famous arias, duets, ensembles, choirs, orchestral fragments from the best operas of Giuseppe Verdi, among them are I Vespri Siciliani, La Traviata, Aida, Il Trovatore, Don Carlos, La Forza del Destino, Un Ballo in Maschera, Rigoletto, Macbeth, Luisa Miller. Soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and guest vocalists will be accompanied by the theatre orchestra conducted by maestro Dmitri Yurovsky.

The Verdi Gala concert is dedicated both to the 210th anniversary of the Italian classic Giuseppe Verdi that was celebrated last year, and to the outstanding singer, founder of the opera company in Krasnoyarsk Pyotr Slovtsov. “The Siberian Nightingale” had a flexible, spectacular tenor voice and was associated with the works of Verdi throughout his entire creative life brilliantly performing the leading roles in his operas.
