Bass singer Anatoly Badaev, a soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, will appear on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in the final gala concert of the 10th festival Seeing Music.
The festival’s closing ceremony and the presentation of the Legend award to outstanding figures of Russian music theatres will take place on the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre on December 1. The concert is directed by Georgy Isaakyan — President of the Seeing Music festival, People's Artist of Russia, and Artistic Director of the Natalia Sats Moscow State Music Theatre, who also staged Alexander Tchaikovsky’s opera Yermak at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
According to the concert rules, invited artists may choose their own repertoire. Anatoly Badaev selected a powerful and expressive piece — Farlaf’s Rondo from Mikhail Glinka’s opera Ruslan and Lyudmila.
Badaev has been with the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre for two years and has distinguished himself not only as a vocalist of high caliber, but also as a charismatic performer and audience favorite in roles such as the monk Varlaam in Boris Godunov, Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Khan Konchak in Prince Igor, King Timur in Turandot, and of course, Doctor Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
