Soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Anna and Yuri Kudryavtsev, were invited to perform at one of Russia’s most prestigious concert venues — Zaryadye Hall in Moscow. The gala concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of People’s Artist of the USSR Maya Plisetskaya was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and ROSKONCERT.
The event brought together leading ballet dancers from the country’s major theatres — the Bolshoi Theatre, Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre, Musa Jalil Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and Mariinsky Theatre’s Primorsky Stage.
The programme featured iconic works from Plisetskaya’s repertoire, including Carmen Suite, Walpurgisnacht, Don Quixote, and The Sleeping Beauty. Prima ballerina Anna Kudryavtseva and premier dancer Yuri Kudryavtsev performed the Adagio of Aegina and Crassus from Aram Khachaturian’s Spartacus and the Pas de Deux of Raymonda and Jean de Brienne from Alexander Glazunov’s Raymonda — both in the choreography of Yuri Grigorovich.
The beloved artists will soon reprise these roles on their home stage in Krasnoyarsk: on November 19, Anna will appear as Raymonda and Yuri as Jean de Brienne, while in Spartacus, Anna (as Aegina) will perform on November 29, and Yuri (as Crassus) on November 30.
