Anna Avakyan and Sevastian Martyniuk to perform at the Small Concert Hall
Soprano Anna Avakyan and baritone Sevastian Martyniuk, soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, will present a recital of art songs on April 16 at the Small Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic.
The programme features romance songs by leading Russian composers of the vocal miniature tradition including Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Georgy Sviridov. At the piano will be Anastasia Kosinskaya, an accompanyist with the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Audiences will also have the chance to hear both singers on their home stage in March. On March 18, in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, Martyniuk will appear as the resourceful barber Figaro — a role that has earned him a nomination at the Theatrical Spring festival. On March 21, in To Love in Wartime by Alexander Tchaikovsky, he'll perform the role of the cheerful soldier Shestopalov. In the same production, Anna Avakyan will appear as one of the central characters, the nurse Lida.
On March 27, in Turandot by Giacomo Puccini, Avakyan will perform the role of Liù—the embodiment of selfless love.
