Irina Lychagina receives a prestigious regional award

Irina Lychagina, Artistic Director and Chief Stage Director of the opera company at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, has been awarded the Dmitri Hvorostovsky State Prize of the Krasnoyarsk Region in the field of opera. The award ceremony will take place on March 19.

The prize recognizes outstanding creative achievements that contribute significantly to the cultural development of the Krasnoyarsk Region and hold exceptional artistic value. The official decree is signed by the Governor of the Region.

Lychagina has been with the theatre since April 2023. She has staged productions of Boris Godunov by Modest Mussorgsky, Orfeo ed Euridice by Christoph Willibald Gluck, Manon by Jules Massenet, Norma by Vincenzo Bellini (in concert form), Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, and To Love in Wartime by Alexander Tchaikovsky, as well as a number of concert programmes and festival projects. Her productions consistently become major cultural events in the region, attracting strong interest from audiences, the media, and the professional community.

In March, Krasnoyarsk audiences will have the chance to see two of her productions: Il Barbiere di Siviglia on March 18 and To Love in Wartime on March 21. Both have been nominated for the regional Theatrical Spring award as Best Premiere of the Season.
