On Victor Astafiev’s Memorial Day, November 29, a solemn event was held in his homeland - the village of Ovsyanka. Fans of the writer gathered at the Library-Museum to listen to Anna Kiseliova, a soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Accompanied by Elena Chepurnaya (piano) and Irina Chepurnaya (violin), Anna Kiseliova performed a concert programme dedicated to Viktor Astafyev. They performed a vocalise and the romance song Dream by Sergei Rachmaninov (Viktor Petrovich loved these works), as well as Krasnoyarsk composer Vladimir Porotsky’s song Ah, Autumn, Autumn ... based on the poem by Astafyev. Only two of his poems are known - they both were set to music; the second song is Heh, Years Are Not a Problem!
In May 2024, the entire country will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Viktor Astafyev. Within the celebration, the gala concert Last Bow dedicated to Viktor Petrovich is planned at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
It’s worth adding that Anna Kiseliova will take the stage of the Theatre at the baroque music concert Happy Lovers, Mad Sufferers on December 10.
