Soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Anna Kiseliova will participate in the production Guard Me, My Talisman at the Pushkin Krasnoyarsk Drama Theatre. However, she’ll perform her traditional role - a singer of romance songs.
The premiere of the play Guard Me, My Talisman will take place on February 20 in the new theatrical space Pushka+. Director Artiom Rudoy combined Alexander Pushkin’s humorous poem Count Nulin, in which Alexander Sergeevich parodies Shakespeare’s Lucrece, with the lyricism of Russian romance songs based on the poems by Pushkin (in 2024, the 225th anniversary of the poet’s birth is celebrated), his contemporaries, his followers. The show will feature works set to music by composers of the 19th and 20th centuries: The Old Husband by Alexei Verstovsky, Winter Road by Georgy Sviridov, etc.
The principal soloist of the opera company, winner of numerous competitions including the Moscow International Competition Big Romanciada 2021, Anna Kiseliova is well known to the audience not only as an opera singer but also as a performer of chamber repertoire. Thus, it’s not accidental that the director chose her for the show Guard Me, My Talisman.
As for the Krasnoyarsk Opera House, Anna will perform on its stage very soon: she’ll sing at the patriotic song concert Faithful Sons of Russia on February 23, at the festive concert of the cycle The Maestro Invites on March 9, and in the role of Rose in Leo Delibes’ opera Lakmé on March 13.
