Artists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre went on tour in Altai

Principal soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre went on a tour to the Altai Krai.

In three cities - Barnaul, Biysk and Rubtsovsk - they’re going to introduce the musical and literary performance based on the story by Alexander Pushkin and the Tchaikovsky’s opera The Queen of Spades. The cast of the show includes the following Krasnoyarsk artists: Mikhail Pirogov (as Herman), Anna Kiseliova (as Liza), Elena Nikitina (as Countess), Andrey Silenko (as Tomsky), Alexander Mikhalev (as Yeletsky).

The Altai Krai State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra (conductor is Dmitri Luzin), the men’s vocal group of the Philharmonic Society, the Tarnetsky Barnaul Academic Choir are to take part in the performance.

Today, on September 23, the first performance will be held in Barnaul. The citizens of Biysk will see and hear it on September 24; and in Rubtsovsk, it’ll take place on September 25.

Andrei Silenko arrived in Barnaul in advance, and his colleagues - Mikhail Pirogov, Alexander Mikhalev, Elena Nikitina - only the day before. Mikhail Pirogov hit the road literally from the stage: on Saturday night he performed the part of Count Vaudémont in Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera Iolanta at the Krasnoyarsk Opera House.
