Doctor of Art History Lyudmila Gavrilova will take part in the project Half an Hour Before the Third Bell and talk to the audience of the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Snow Maiden right before it starts. The meeting will take place in the foyer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre at 6.30 p.m. on May 23.
The conversation with the audience will be dedicated to the opera The Snow Maiden in general and production of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in particular. The theatre’s soloist, head of the Faculty of Solo Singing and Opera Training at the Siberian State Institute of Arts, Honoured Artist of Russia Vera Baranova will take part in the conversation because she, for many years, had performed the title role in this opera by Rimsky-Korsakov.
In The Snow Maiden show on May 23, graduates of the Faculty will appear on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre: soprano singer Angelina Zhitina (as Snow Maiden), tenor Nikita Gusmanov (as Berendey), and baritone Aldar Dampilov (as Mizgir). For these young singers, this will not only be their debut performance in an opera show, but also state examination.
