Principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Honoured Artist of the Krasnoyarsk Region Daria Ryabinko celebrates 15 years of her serving in the Theatre. She’ll perform the virtuoso part of Rosina in the premiere of Gioachino Rossini's opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
The first performances of the opera will take place quite soon - on November 9 and 10. It’ll probably become a real gala show for Daria: she’s going to perform this complex in singing and acting main female part two nights in a row. And this is aside from the rehearsals, since the production is rehearsed several times at the finishing stage before the premiere. Despite the difficulties, Daria Ryabinko works on the part with great pleasure - she likes both her role and Rossini's music.
“Rosina is willful, bright, she is full of many various colours. A kind of Napoleon in a skirt: she knows what she wants, she resolutely pursues her ambitions. When she encounters obstacles while pressing ahead with her plans, Rosina gets more excited than upset. She sometimes manipulates and feigns to reach her goals. But she always is ready to treat her miscarrying as humorous,” says Daria Ryabinko. “Rosina has absolutely virtuoso coloraturas, but simply demonstrating the complex vocal technique required in this music is one thing, accompanying it with theatrical action is another. With the multitasking of this role, any vocal complexities seem to sparkle with new colours, and the character becomes more colourful. That is why I especially love working on each part of the painstaking production process – from studying the musical material to rehearsals and stepping to the stage.”
Aside from Rosina, Daria Ryabinko will in November sing the roles of Morozova and Olga in Tchaikovsky's operas The Oprichnik (on November 23) and Eugene Onegin (on November 27) respectively; in mid-December, she’ll certainly perform her favourite part of Lyubasha in The Tsar's Bride.
Daria Ryabinko joined the company of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2009 while still a student of the Krasnoyarsk Academy of Music and Theatre. She made her debut as Lyubasha in The Tsar's Bride in 2010. In15 years, she has performed more than 30 solo parts. Daria won multiple international, all-Russian, and regional competitions, she’s a nominee for the Golden Mask and Onegin awards, laureate of the Hvorostovsky State Prize of the Krasnoyarsk Region in the field of opera art (2022).
