The premiere of the film version of Cesare Pugni’s ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit that was staged by the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and won the national theatre award Golden Mask in three categories will be presented in Moscow. The event will take place at the cinema centre Oktyabr on November 21.
The film version was created by the TV channel Russia-Culture, the distribution company is Kino.Art.Pro. The ballet film was created as part of the Theatre in Cinema - federal project of the TV channel Culture.
“We had chosen this theatrical work to create a film version long before it received prestigious awards. And we’re pleased to note that our opinion about the highest quality and creative value of the production is shared by both the audience and the professional community. Bravo to the directors and dancers! And the spectators who have yet to see the film version can only be envied,” noted Natalia Litvinova, chief executive of the Information Interaction and Web Resources Department of the TV channel Russia-Culture.
The visitors of the cinema centre Oktyabr will have a spectacular holiday: a meeting with the artists, a red carpet, the victorious Golden Masks, an immersive photo zone, and an exhibition of costumes created for the production.
After the premiere in Moscow, the film version of the ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit will be released throughout Russia; in Krasnoyarsk, it’ll be shown on November 24. The leading roles in the film version are performed by the following artists: Catarina by Elena Svinko, Salvator Rosa by Yuri Kudryavtsev, Diavolino by Georgy Bolsunovsky, Florinda by Anastasia Osokina, Duke of Albano by Kirill Litvinenko, Officer by Denis Kazarin.
