Davit Esayan to perform at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre

Soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Davit Esayan will appear on the stage of the Novosibirsk Opera House (NOVAT) on January 20. He’s going to sing the part of Jose in Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen.

Davit Esayan made his debut as a sergeant in love on the Krasnoyarsk stage in 2022 - in the ballet opera Carmen. And the iconic role of 2023 for the singer was Andrei Morozov in the premiere of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s rare opera The Oprichnik.

The title role in the opera Carmen in Novosibirsk will be performed by the soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and the Kolobov Moscow Theatre Novaya Opera, Honoured Artist of Russia, mezzo-soprano singer Agunda Kulaeva. She is a guest soloist of the NOVAT. Agunda Kulaeva is also well known to Krasnoyarsk spectators: she participated in the festival Stars Parade at the Opera, performed the roles of Konchakovna and Polina in the operas Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin and The Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, respectively.

Pavel Antsiferov will perform the bullfighter Escamillo in the NOVAT; he has been a soloist of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre for five years already. It was Pavel who performed the title role in the opera Prince Igor on December 20, 2023: the show was timed to the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House.
