Davit Yesayan to take part in the Prince Igor production of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre

The principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Davit Yesayan will perform the part of Vladimir in Alexander Borodin's opera Prince Igor on the stage of the Buryat Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre on October 13.

Opera fans in Buryatia already know the Krasnoyarsk soloist: he won a diploma and special prize at the 3rd Baikal International Vocal Competition in 2019. The special prize Davit Yesayan received includes the participation in the performance of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre. The Baikal International Vocal Competition is an event of a large scale: in 2019, 59 talented performers representing different cities of Russia, Mongolia, China, and South Korea participated in it.

The opera Prince Igor was the first performance of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in December 1978: since that time, it has become a kind of the hallmark of the Theatre. In a show dedicated to the Theatre’s anniversary in 2021, Davit Yesayan made his debut as Prince Vladimir.

Soon, Krasnoyarsk residents will be able to see and hear Davit, too. On October 20, he will take part in one of the events of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival: a Gala Concert, in which he’ll perform José's aria La Fleur Que Tu M'Avais Jetée from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet. And on October 23, the soloist will take the stage of the Theatre as Alfred in Giuseppe Verdi's opera La Traviata.
