In October 2023, Chief Conductor of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Dmitri Yurovsky is going to present three large-scale concert programmes at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the main venue of the Moscow State Conservatory.
On October 14, the spiritual work Mass in B minor by Johann Sebastian Bach will be performed by soloists of the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia; Dmitri Yurovsky will take the conductor's stand. The event will take place within the 2nd Festival Chorus Without Borders and be dedicated to the 95th birthday of Vladimir Minin, the organizer and artistic director of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir who will also take part in the concert.
Among the soloists of Bach’s Mass, there’s a tenor singer Boris Stepanov who is invited to perform the role of Gerald in Leo Delibes’ opera Lakmé at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on November 4.
The next night on October 15, Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed on the stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall: Overture Die Weihe des Hauses, Op. 113, Concerto No. 1 for Piano and Orchestra, Symphony No. 3 a.k.a. The Heroic Symphony. Denis Matsuev will play the piano; the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Dmitri Yurovsky.
And on October 20, the maestro will again work with the Svetlanov Orchestra: they will perform Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra by Igor Stravinsky (soloist is Filipp Kopachevsky) and Aram Khachaturian’s symphonic poem Spartacus (music edition by Dmitri Yurovsky).
