Dmitry Antipov on "The Arabesque – 2016"

The leading soloist of the Krasnoyarsk state opera and ballet theatre Dmitry Antipov will take part in one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world – the competition "Arabesque". It will pass from April 14 to 24 at the Perm academic opera and ballet theatre named after P. I. Tchaikovsky.

Dmitry AntipovExcept participation in the main program, the Krasnoyarsk dancer will act as one of choreographers in the special project which will be presented to the competition opening day – creative workshop of the people's artist of the USSR Vladimir Vasilyev. Bright representatives of new generation of the Russian choreographers, winners and owners of awards for statement of modern numbers will create choreographic miniatures on works of N. V. Gogol, and Vladimir Vasilyev will unite works in one performance and will create decorating to him.

In "Arabesque-2016" participate about 150 young dancers aged from 13 till 25 years, the representing different choreographic schools from 19 countries of the world: Russia, Sweden, Japan, Norway, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Great Britain, Armenia, Belarus, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine.

This year participants and the audience are expected by innovations from which main thing – division of dancers into two age groups: younger and senior. Besides, the program of "Arabesque" will be added by the competition of modern choreography finding the increasing recognition. In the nominations connected with modern dance 74 choreographers and 51 performers were declared.

The competent jury which part were will estimate contestants: Nikolay Boyarchikov (St. Petersburg, Russia), Elena Bogdanovich (Moscow, Russia), Dietmar Seiffert (Berlin, Germany), Morikhiro Ivata (Yokohama, Japan), Son Hee Kym (Seoul, Republic of Korea), Tursynbek Nurkaliyev (Astana, Kazakhstan), Rada Poklitara (Kiev, Ukraine), Tatyana Predeina (Chelyabinsk, Russia), Vladimir Tolstukhin (Perm, Russia), Kirill Shmorgoner (Samara, Russia). Chairman of jury is the people's artist of the USSR Vladimir Vasilyev.
