An exhibition of vintage posters dedicated to the history of the international festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov has opened in the second-floor foyer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The exhibition brings together treasures from the theatre’s museum and archives—posters from different years of the Star Parade at the Opera festivals and competitions. Carefully preserved, these pieces capture the vibrant, eventful life of the festival, now known as Star Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov. Seen together, they trace how the festival has evolved over time, growing richer each year and embracing a wider range of themes, formats, and personalities—above all, that of Pyotr Ivanovich Slovtsov himself.
Thanks to the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, interest has been revived in the remarkable figure of the tenor singer—our fellow countryman, the “Siberian nightingale”—who shared the stage with Fyodor Chaliapin and Antonina Nezhdanova. He became the founder of opera in Krasnoyarsk. It is in Pyotr Slovtsov’s legacy that the roots of Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s artistic achievements can be found—a legacy the theatre proudly bears in its name.
