The traditional lecture within the project Half an Hour Before the Premiere will be held before the first show of A Round-the-Planet Trip to the World of Tango at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on March 30. Many fans of Russian classical music know Yossi Tavor (as he informally calls himself) as the author of the radio show Tavor in Major on the Russian radiostation Orpheus, as well as a highly educated specialist and lecturer, music critic and expert, theatre and literary critic, journalist and concert host.
Joseph Tavor, born in Chernivtsi, studied at the Glinka State Conservatory in Gorky (nowadays Nizhny Novgorod) and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in the class of violin. He lives and works in Israel and Russia. He was a cultural and arts columnist for numerous newspapers and magazines, as well as for the Voice of Israel radio station. His programmes on theatrical and music topics are very popular in both countries. He has many years of experience as a host of music festivals and has spoken at professional conferences in Israel and Russia.
Yossi Tavor is the author of numerous articles on culture in the Israeli and Russian mass media, he wrote the monograph work On the Development of Israeli Culture in the Light of Migration Processes, created scripts for several music documentary films for television. He gives lectures at higher educational institutions in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, and teaches at the Moscow State University. Joseph Tavor's lectures are always imaginative, emotional, and fascinating.
