According to the order of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov, principal tutor of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Ivan Karnaukhov received the honorary title Honoured Artist of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
As the regional law on the awards system stands, this title is given for conscientious work and great personal contribution to the development of culture and art in the Krasnoyarsk Region.
A graduate of the Krasnoyarsk Choreography College, Ivan Karnaukhov has been serving at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre since 2001. He collaborated with the Moscow Chamber Ballet in 2002 and the Imperial Russian Ballet under the direction of Gediminas Taranda in 2003. Ivan took part in numerous tours. And yet, the main stage where Ivan’s talent is applied is the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Here, the artist performed more than forty roles (Siegfried, Romeo, Mercutio, James, Basil, Solor, Hans, Le Dancaïre, Rzhevsky, Lel, Pyotr Leontievich, Nijinsky, and many others).
Ivan Karnaukhov is a multiple award winner of the festival Theatrical Spring (Benno in Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky in 2015; Danila in The Tale of the Stone Flower by Prokofiev in 2013; Spartak in the eponymous ballet by Khachaturian in 2008), winner of the Certificate of Honour of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Region in 2011.
Since October 2022, Ivan Karnaukhov has been principal ballet tutor; he has been working with the ballet company on nearly all the productions of the repertoire of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
