The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre’s principal soloist, Honoured Artist of Russia German Efremov became a laureate of the Moscow International Competition of Russian Romance Performers Big Romanciada 2020. German Timofeevich won the Star of the Competition title.
Seventy artists from twenty countries - professionals, amateurs and ensembles - took part in the competition in 2020. The theatre’s soloist of the year vividly performed four vocal works and was admitted to the competition’s three rounds. Being 73 years old, German Efremov was ahead of the younger participants; he was awarded the Star of the Competition diploma.
“Despite the tense epidemic situation, the atmosphere of the competition was warm, joyous, the contestants were awarded rapturous applause. My participation in the competition gave a lot of positive emotions and a desire to work further,” - German Timofeevich shared his impressions.
German Efremov, as a teacher, was proud of his students’ excellent performance at the competition: a graduate of the Ad Libitun opera studio Alexander Shuzhdants who received the Best Voice of the Competition diploma, and a 3rd-year student of the Siberian Institute of Arts Alla Zhdanova.
