The team of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre has gathered an impressive list of six nominations for the 5th National Opera Award Onegin.
Several soloists of our theatre were nominated for the award in 2020. They are Zoya Rzheplyanskaya as Foreign Singer in the immersive show Hvorostovsky. Homecoming by Alexey Syumak (the category Best Female Debut), Andrey Kolobov as Peter Pan in the children's show Peter Pan by Andrey Rubtsov, Daria Ryabinko as Guardian in the one-act opera The Night at the Museum, or the Testament of the Master by Pyotr Pospelov based on Mozart's sonatas.
The Night at the Museum (Zoya Rzheplyanskaya, Daria Ryabinko, Yaroslav Abaimov, Evgeny Sevastianov, Vera Izotova) and Peter Pan (Daria Ryabinko, Alexander Mikhaliov, Andrey Kolobov, Alexei Sokolov) were also nominated for the best cast. Peter Pan is nominated in the category Event.
The Onegin Opera Award Ceremony will take place in St. Petersburg on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theatre on November 13, 2020. 94 applications were submitted for the award this year (in 2019 - 84). The geography of the fifth season of the national opera award includes musical theatres of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, the Republic of Karelia, Chuvashia, the Komi Republic, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk.
It’s worth reminding that in 2019 the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre was awarded two diplomas of the Onegin Award: the diploma in the nominated category Theatre (for a high level of repertoire policy and public relations), and the one in the category Event. Production (for the world premiere of the Alexander Tchaikovsky's opera Yermak).
“The Onegin Award has become an important event in our music life, it fulfils its main task: to support our singers and to promote and develop the Russian opera art,” said the President of the Award, People's Artist of Russia Sergei Leiferkus.
