On February 2, “Requiem” by Verdi was performed in memory of Dmitri Hvorostovsky in the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The friends and colleagues of the singer came to his native city to honour the memory of this outstanding artist - soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, People's artists of Russia Irina Dolzhenko and Oleg Kulko, Honoured Artist of Russia Mikhail Kazakov and a conductor from the USA Sergei Khanukaev.
Not only citizens who bought tickets were able to attend the performance and to listen to the work which is nowadays performed only in the best opera theatres of the world, but also pupils, their parents and teachers of school №1 and children’s music school №4 as well as students of the Krasnoyarsk state Institute of Arts and the Krasnoyarsk College of Arts named after P.I. Ivanov-Radkevich. The partners of our theatre, the Krasnoyarsk regional public charity organization “Goodness Boomerang” made it possible.
The administration of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre wishes to express particular gratitude to the “Goodness Boomerang” for supporting projects and engaging in the theatre’s life. This is not the first time the “Goodness Boomerang” offers the theatre a helping hand and a shoulder to lean on. Quite recently, at the end of January our joint campaign “Share goodness - donate the ticket” came to an end: our spectators donated performance tickets to those who can’t afford visiting the theatre - senior citizens, families with lower income, kids from social rehabilitation centres, people with reduced capabilities. Nearly one thousand tickets had been donated during two months.
The beneficent marathon “Art in the name of life” was carried out in 2017 as a part of the VIII international festival “Stars Parade in the Opera” dedicated to Elena Obraztsova. One of the highlights of the project was a beneficent auction to support people suffering from oncological diseases. Nearly one million roubles was raised during the marathon. The raised money was allocated for treatment of two teenagers.
