As a part of the IX International Festival "Stars Parade in the Opera” which started on February 3, 2018, the exhibition dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovsky was opened in the lobby of Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre. The exhibition embraces the artistic journey of the renowned singer - from the days he started his career up to his last days.
One of the most interesting items is Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s onstage dress he wore during “Eugene Onegin” opera performance. The part of Onegin was one of the first parts Hvorostovsky performed on the stage of Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre. It’s pretty symbolic that the current “Stars Parade” dedicated to the artist started with this very opera’s premiere.
Other rarities are a ticket and a theatre programme of “The Queen of Spades” opening performance with the Hvorostovsky’s autograph note on it: “From debuting Yeletsky on the Premiere day”.
At the exhibition there are also playbills for the performances Dmitri Hvorostovsky played parts in as well as his music records and mass media articles about the renowned Krasnoyarsk native. But the greater part of the exhibition comprises the rare photos of the artist from the holdings of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum and Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The exhibition is held until March 28, 2018, the day the “Star Parade in the Opera” comes to an end.
Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre would like to express particular gratitude to the family of Dmitri Hvorostovsky for providing items for the exhibition.
