Guest musicians invited to take part in Aida

Guest soloists Maria Bayankina (The Mariinsky Theatre) and Stanislav Shvets (The Helikon-Opera Theatre) will appear on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in the opera Aida by Giuseppe Verdi. Honoured Figure of Art of Mordovia Sergei Kiss will take the conductor's stand. Aida is the second event of the festival Slovtsov. Postscriptum.

Maestro Sergei Kiss graduated from the Faculty of Choral Conducting of the Pyotr Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory; at the same time, he studied piano at the Prokofiev Second Moscow Regional Music College. Then he learned opera and symphony conducting at the conservatory, and most recently - in 2021 - he broadened his skills in an qualification apprenticeship at the Mikhail Glinka Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory majoring in symphony orchestra conducting.

Sergei Kiss has considerable experience of working with various metropolitan and regional music teams including the Moscow theatres Novaya Opera (New Opera), Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre, M. Yaushev Music Theatre in Saransk (Republic of Mordovia), the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Komi Republic in Syktyvkar, the Ivanovo Music Theatre, etc. Since 2021, he has been a conductor of the Ulyanovsk State Academic Symphony Orchestra Gubernatorsky. Sergei Kiss conducted and directed lots of operas and ballets by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mozart, Donizetti, Bizet, and others.

Maria Bayankina graduated from the Faculty of Vocal of the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music where she as well took up postgraduate studies. In January 2013, she made her debut at the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre in the opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Since 2019, she has been a soloist of the Mariinsky Opera Company where she performs more than 20 leading and solo parts in contemporary and classical operas. Among them is Aida: it is this part Maria will perform on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on February 4. In March 2021, the singer performed Renata (Prokofiev's The Fiery Angel) at the Hamburg International Music Festival (conducted by Valery Gergiev). In 2022, she sang Tatiana at the National Opera of Bucharest, Tosca at the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Theatre of Uzbekistan (Tashkent), and Aida in the city of El Gouna (Egypt).

Stanislav Shvets is also a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory. In 2000, he joined the opera company of the Moscow Music Theatre Helikon-Opera. He brilliantly performed the roles of Boris Godunov and Pimen in Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov, Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky, King of Clubs in The Love for Three Oranges by Prokofiev, Don Basilio in The Barber of Seville by Rossini, Daland in The Flying Dutchman by Wagner, and others. In 2021, Stanislav sang the role of Geronte di Ravoir (Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini) at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

Stanislav Shvets already performed the role of the priest Ramfis on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre within the Stars Parade at the Opera Festival in 2019. Maria Bayankina took part in this festival in 2015.
