At the end of March, guest tenor Denis Zakirov will appear on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in the Leo Delibes' opera Lakme.
The singer will perform the leading male role of the opera - a British army officer Gerald who was the beloved of the young Indian woman Lakme. The role will not be the debut for the artist: Denis Zakirov has already performed it on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Denis graduated from the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts; he used to be a soloist of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Krasnodar Musical Theatre. Since 2010, he has been a soloist of the chamber theatre Saint Petersburg Opera. Within the creative team that worked on the productions Faust and October ..17, the singer received the St. Petersburg Government Prize in the field of culture and art in 2017. Denis Zakirov also actively performs at the Mariinsky Theatre as a guest soloist. He made his debut on this stage in October 2018 performing the part of Arrigo in the opera Les Vêpres Siciliennes by Giuseppe Verdi. In 2020, he took part in the premiere of the production The Snow Maiden at the Mariinsky Theatre.

The Leo Delibes' opera Lakme will be presented on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on March 26, 2023. The production is included in the programme of the Russian opera festival Slovtsov. Postscriptum. Within the festival, Tchaikovsky's opera The Queen of Spades will also be performed in April. And the large-scale show Slovtsov Gala will close the Forum.
