The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre’s director Maria Tikhonova joined the production group of the performance based on Emil Zola’s novel Au Bonheur des Dames. It’ll be staged at the Moscow Academic Theatre of Satire.
This novel is a utopia of the success of the small and medium entrepreneurship: the story of the absorption of small shops, boutiques and talented artisan-entrepreneurs by large business sharks is quite relevant as well today.
Now the production team is preparing for the work on the play. The famous poet and playwright Yuri Ryashentsev in collaboration with Galina Polidi, director Maria Tikhonova, composer Andrei Rubtsov, set designer Irina Sid, choreographer Arseny Khorunzhy created a stage version of the Emil Zola’s work, which started from the times when the novel was written - the middle of 19th century - up to the modern times.
“Au Bonheur des Dames is a very interesting project for me as a director as I’m to involve dramatic artists into the musical genre. I’m really flattered that Alexander Anatolyevich Shirvindt asked me to stage a performance at the Theatre of Satire: we prepare the project with the same team as the Peter Pan musical fairy tale at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in May”, - Maria Tikhonova said.
