The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre is going to show its best performances on the stage of the Tomsk Regional Drama Theatre. This tour is possible thanks to the federal project The Russian Theatre Marathon.
On March 26, the Modern Choreography Night is to take place, its programme includes bright one-act ballets and choreographic numbers (The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky, Romeo and Julia by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Bolero by Maurice Ravel, and others). The première of these ballets took place in November at the Fifth International Ballet Forum, choreographers and directors are Sergey Bobrov and Francesca Frassinelli.
On March 27, Tomsk citizens will see the ballet by Sergei Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet. This performance is a nominee of the National Theatre Festival Golden Mask (2006) in three categories: Best Performance, Best Choreographer (Sergei Bobrov) and Best Female Part (Anna Rebetskaya as Juliette).
The Russian Theatre Marathon was launched in Vladivostok on January 18, 2019. It’ll last throughout the whole year 2019, 85 regions of Russia will take part in it. The performances will be a part of a cultural relay race: the Primorsky Drama Theatre went from Vladivostok to Khabarovsk, and the Khabarovsk Musical Theatre went to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. So the relay will reach the westernmost point of the country - Kaliningrad. Eight forums of the Union of Theatre Professionals of the Russian Federation will also be held under the name of Russian Theatre - XXI Century: A New Look during the Russian Theatre Marathon. The problems of theatrical affairs in Russia are going to be discussed at the forums. Professionals and experts of the performing arts will hold seminars and master classes of all theatre professions. The final forum is to take place in Moscow, and the draft document Strategy for the Development of Theatrical Business in the Russian Federation for the Period Up to 2030 will be adopted at it. A special symbol of the Theatre Year was developed, which will move around the country with a touring theatre as a part of the Theatre Marathon. It’ll be taken to every region of Russia.
