Daria Ryabinko, a soloist with the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre and Honoured Artist of the Krasnoyarsk Region, will take the stage at the NOVAT on April 3. She has been invited to perform the role of Boyarina Morozova in The Oprichnik by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
Ryabinko has sung this powerful dramatic role many times at her home theatre. Although The Oprichnik is not currently part of the Krasnoyarsk theatre’s repertoire, local audiences will have several opportunities to hear their favorite soprano in the coming weeks:
February 27 and 28, and March 18 — as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini
March 5 — as Amneris in Aida by Giuseppe Verdi
March 8 — in the concert programme Viva Mozart!
March 21 — in three roles (Death, the Translator, and the Nurse) in To Love in Wartime by Alexander Tchaikovsky, based on the wartime prose of Viktor Astafyev
For her performances in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and To Love in Wartime, Ryabinko has been nominated in the Best Actress category at the regional festival Theatrical Spring. The winners will be announced on March 27 celebrated worldwide as World Theatre Day.
