In May 2023, the artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will once again present their new interpretations of the roles in well-known performances.

One of the most popular productions - Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake - will include several debuts at once. On May 7, Elena Mikheecheva (as Odile) and Olesya Aldonina (as Evil Fairy Owl) will appear on stage in these roles for the first time. On May 6, Olga Peshkova will make her debut in the ballet as the Hungarian Bride.

For almost three years, the contemporary composer Alexander Tchaikovsky's opera Yermak based on historical events hasn’t been performed on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Now it’s back and Valentin Kolesnikov will make his debut as Yermak's henchman Ivan Koltso on May 20, People's Artist of Russia Anatoly Berezin as Ivan the Terrible, Victoria Maslyukova as Vasily Surikov's wife Lilia on May 21.

Victoria will do another debut performance: the leading female role of Natalia Zhemchuzhnaya in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera Oprichnik on May 14. This large-scale premiere took place at the Theatre in January 2023. There will be two shows of the opera in May, and several debutants will also take the stage: May 13 - Sevastian Martyniuk (as Prince Zhemchuzhny), May 14 - Andrei Silenko (as Prince Zhemchuzhny), Sergei Samusev (as Molchan Mitkov, Natalia's fiancé), Olga Basova (as Boyarynya Morozova), Sergei Telenkov (as Prince Vyazminsky).

La Fille Mal Gardée - the very name of this ballet by Peter Ludwig Hertel evokes a smile. The residents of Krasnoyarsk have not seen it for more than three years, and now this comic ballet has been restored. It will feature for the first time Elena Mikheecheva in the leading female part of Lise (May 28), Rodion Zinyak as Michaud. Kirill Litvinenko and Daniil Kostylev have the most interesting task before them: they will dance a remarkable comic role - Widow Simone, Lise's mother. This part requires not only choreographic but also acting skills. Veronika Latipova, Maria Kuloshvili, Ksenia Krentovskaya, Anna Salenkova, Egor Osokin, Oleksiy Skalyun will debut in the roles of friends of the leading characters in this story.
