Soloist The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre Mikhail Pirogov will take part in the Elena Obraztsova Opera Ball, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding Russian singer. The Gala Night will take place on the 4th of November 4 Moscow.
The participants of the annual prestigious event will be the stars of the Russian and world opera: Olga Borodina, Vitaliy Bily, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Lawrence Brownlee, Maria Gulegina, Francesco Demuro, Veronika Dzhioyeva, Vladimir Dmitruk, Makvala Kasrashvili, Julia Lezhneva, Nina Minasian, Leo Nucci, Lyubov Petrova , Yekaterina Semenchuk, Ferruccio Furlanetto.
Mikhail Pirogov is to perform the scene at the fountain of the Modest Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov (the duet of Dimitri and Marina Mniszech) along with Yekaterina Semenchuk; he’ll also perform Radamès in the second act scene of the Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Aida. Mezzo-soprano Yekaterina Semenchuk is a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre. As a guest artist, she performs at major opera houses of Europe and America, she sings at the Salzburg and Edinburgh festivals.
It’s worth reminding that Mikhail Pirogov has recently taken part in the events of the 1st Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival: he sang in a gala concert, as well as in the Aleko opera by Sergei Rachmaninoff. On the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the highly recognized tenor will perform the part of Ivan Koltso in Alexander Tchaikovsky’s opera Yermak on November 3, and he’ll sing Mario Cavaradossi, the painter, in Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca on November 21.
