On 17 January, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tsar’s Bride. The part of the tragic heroine Lyubasha will be performed by mezzo-soprano singer Elizaveta Tselikova, a soloist of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT).
Tselikova graduated from the Astrakhan State Conservatory in 2019. She has continued to refine her artistry through a range of masterclasses and, in 2021, completed an assistantship and advanced training programme at the Mussorgsky Ural State Conservatory. In 2023, with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, she spent five months studying with Honoured Artist of Russia and Bolshoi Theatre soloist Agunda Kulaeva.
A member of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre company since 2021, Tselikova has worked with the conductors Dmitri Yurovsky, Mikhail Tatarnikov, Evgeny Volynsky, and Eldar Nagiev. Her repertoire includes roles such as Dunyasha (The Tsar’s Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov), Marta (Iolanta by Tchaikovsky), Olga (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Count Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss), Mercedes (Carmen by Georges Bizet), among others.
Elizaveta Tselikova is a prizewinner of several international competitions, including the 3rd International Sergei Rachmaninoff Music Competition (St Petersburg, 2023).
