October 2025: opera and ballet debuts

In October, the artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present audiences with a series of exciting debuts — in ballet, opera, children’s productions, and concert programmes.

This month is particularly rich in ballet debuts.

In Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake on October 11, Anastasia Zlobina (Belonogova) will make her debut as the villainous Owl, while Polina Mayagacheva will appear for the first time as the Princess. On October 12, Zlobina will debut again, this time as one of the Two Swans, and the pas de trois will feature Arina Nikishaeva and Alisa Shanina in their first appearances.

October will also see five shows of Peter Hertel’s ballet La Fille Mal Gardée, two of which will take place in Minusinsk. During this tour, the following artists will debut: on October 17, Nikita Vasiliev as the Notary, and Nadezhda Vagal and Sakiho Kobayashi as Lisa and Colas’s friends; on October 18, Ruslan Abolmasov will take on the leading male role of Colas, the young farmer. At the Krasnoyarsk show on October 22, Arina Nikishaeva, Semion Belsky, and Artur Schmidt will debut as Lisa and Colas’s friends.

There are also debuts among the opera company. Edward Arutyunyan will make his first appearance in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta as the oriental doctor Ibn-Hakia. In addition, Nikita Gusmanov will debut in the concert-journey programme Around the World in 80 Minutes on 10 October, and Elena Nikutina will appear as the Atamansha in the children’s production The Town Musicians of Bremen by Gennady Gladkov on October 12.

Finally, October’s performances of Giselle brought several important debuts: Ksenia Krentovskaya and Ruslan Abolmasov performed the leading roles of Giselle and Count Albrecht, Ksenia Bagryantseva debuted as Myrtha, Lolita Moshkova appeared as one of the Two Wilis, Nikita Vasiliev as Wilfried, and Bato Tushinov in the Pas de Deux Inserted.
