Opera and ballet debut performances in April 2023

At the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, nearly all the debuts of April 2023 will be made in one ballet production - Sleeping Beauty by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The show of Sleeping Beauty on April 6 will be especially fruitful for debuts. The following principal dancers will dance in the ballet for the first time: Anastasia Nigmatulina (as Queen), Grigory Botenkov (Carabosse Fairy), Veronika Latipova (Violente or Fairy of Golden Vine), Alexandra Ermicheva (Canari qui chante), Xenia Krentovskaya (Fleur de Farine or Enchanted Garden Fairy), Vladimir Bragin (Puss-in-Boots), Alina Bezrukikh and Vasily Kazarin (Little Red Riding Hood and the Gray Wolf), Vasilina Skurikhina (Cinderella).

Anna Fedosova who took a long break to get recovered after surgery gets back to the stage debuting in The Sleeping Beauty: on April 6, Anna will perform the part of the Lilac Fairy for the first time, on April 7 - Princess Florine.

There are also debutants among the performers of the roles of the four princes - Suitors of Princess Aurora. These are principal dancer Matvey Nikishaev (April 6) and Oleksiy Skalyun (April 8).

On April 8, the following dancers will debut in the Sleeping Beauty: Anna Salenkova (as Violente or Fairy of Golden Vine), Vasilina Skurikhina (Fleur de Farine or Enchanted Garden Fairy), Veronika Latipova and Anton Lysov (White Cat and Puss-in-Boots), Alexandra Ermicheva and Grigory Botenkov (Little Red Riding Hood and the Gray Wolf), Ksenia Krentovskaya and Anton Lysov (Cinderella and Prince Fortune).

As for the opera company, Edward Arutyunyan will debut in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera The Queen of Spades on April 12: he’s going to sing the part of Chekalinsky. And Victoria Kangina will perform the part of Polina in this opera for the first time on the Krasnoyarsk stage (she has previously performed it in other theatres).
