Opera improvisation "Iolanta"

The VIII International Festival "Parade of stars at the Opera", dedicated to the people's artist of the USSR Elena Obraztsova, continues!

"Iolanta"On January 29 at the theatre there is opera "Iolanta" by Peter Tchaikovsky. This will be an unusual spectacle. Soloists of the International Academy of Music of Elena Obraztsova (St. Petersburg) will present the performance-improvisation. Artists on stage will translate the images and act in the proposed circumstances as they feel at the moment, here and now. Thus, the play will be produced in front of the audience.

The main roles will be performed by Gleb Peryazev (Rene, King of Provence), Elnara Mamedova (Iolanta), Hamid Abdulov (Robert, Duke of Burgundy), Zhang Hanlin (Vaudemont), Yefim Zavalny (Ibn-Hakia, a Moorish physician), Maria Zaikina (Martha, nurse of Iolanta).

Their partners at the scene will be the soloists of the Krasnoyarsk state opera and ballet theatre Inna Spodina and Larisa Plotnikova (Brigitta and Laura, the girlfriend of Iolanta), Dmitri Ryabtsev (Bertrand) and Boris Sabirov (Almeric). Manage orchestra this evening will be Fabio Mastrangelo (Italy).

The opera "Iolanta" - this is the last work of Peter Tchaikovsky. It is among the operas, which are "hearing" even for those music lovers who do not ever listen to it at the theatre. These are the emotional strength and charm of beautiful melodies, light-filled and joyful attitude.

"Iolanta" - a touching story of blind girl, not knowing about her illness. But the quiet tranquility of the family breaks the appearance of the young stranger, for what he was threatened with execution. Only love of Iolanta can save him from death, and find her miraculous healing.

The VIII International Festival "Parade of stars at the Opera" will last until 31 of March. During the festival there will be the performances, film-opera "Cavalleria rusticana," directed by Franco Zeffirelli with Elena Obraztsova, in the foyer of the theatre will be the exhibition dedicated to Elena Vasilyevna. There will be a charity marathon "Art for Life" to raise funds for people affected by cancer.
