Opera Non-Stop at the Krasnoyarsk Theatre marks 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers

On March 27, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre will join the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia. For the occasion, the theatre will present a special project — Theatre Night: Opera Non-Stop — featuring three chamber operas performed in the theatre foyer.

For one night only, the foyer will be transformed into an intimate performance space creating a unique sense of closeness between audience and performers. Admission is free, but advance registration is required. Guests can choose to attend the full opera marathon or register for individual performances. The programme runs from 9 PM to 12:40 AM.

At 9:30 PM, the night opens with the lyrical opera Zanetto by Pietro Mascagni. Known for its delicate emotional tone and contemplative mood, the piece sets the atmosphere for the rest of the night.

At 10:40 PM, audiences will see the mystical drama The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti. Centered around séances and encounters with the unknown, it creates a tense and mysterious ambiance.

The marathon concludes at 12:10 AM with the comic opera The Telephone, also by Gian Carlo Menotti. Light and witty, the piece humorously explores the challenges of communication in the modern world.
