Opera soloists to perform at the Krasnoyarsk Railway Station ahead of World Theatre Day
The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre will start its World Theatre Day celebrations on March 26 with a special concert at the city’s main railway station. Opera soloists will take the stage at 12:00, and admission is free.
The programme features popular operatic arias and duets including the Flower Duet from Lakmé by Léo Delibes, the Duke’s aria from Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, Escamillo’s Toreador Song and the Seguidilla from Carmen by Georges Bizet, and Fly Away on the Wings of the Wind from Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin. The concert will also include beloved songs from the Soviet era.
Performers include Honoured Artists of the Krasnoyarsk Region Daria Ryabinko and Eugeny Baldanov, Honoured Cultural Figure of the Krasnoyarsk Region Alexander Mikhaliov, as well as Violetta Grishko, Anna Kharitonova, Alexandra Cherpakova, Daniil Kosenkov, and Ilya Krivchikov.
Last year marked the first time the theatre’s soloists performed at the Railway Station Krasnoyarsk, also on March 27. The concert was a great success, with audiences singing along, giving standing ovations, and staying long after the performance to applaud, take photos, and congratulate the artists on the occasion.
