Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida will be staged on 5 March at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre within the 15th International Festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov. The show will feature guest soloists: Honoured Artist of Russia Veronika Gioeva (Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre) in the title role and Ivan Gyngazov (Helikon-Opera) as Radamès.
Veronika Gioeva is a native of South Ossetia and a graduate of the St Petersburg State Conservatory. From 2006 to 2022, she was a soloist with the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre; since 2023, she has been a soloist with the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre. She is also a frequent guest at the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, and Mikhailovsky theatres.
One of today’s most sought-after singers, not only in Russia, Gioeva performs regularly on major international stages including Zurich Opera House, La Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Real in Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Prague State Opera, and the Finnish National Opera, among others. She has collaborated with outstanding musicians such as conductors Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Teodor Currentzis, and Vladimir Spivakov.
Her repertoire includes Marfa (The Tsar’s Bride by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov), the Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky), Elisabetta (Don Carlos by Giuseppe Verdi), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth by Verdi), Violetta (La Traviata by Verdi), Aida (Aida by Verdi), and many other parts.
Ivan Gyngazov is already well known to Krasnoyarsk audiences. His Siberian repertoire includes Andrei Morozov (The Oprichnik by Tchaikovsky), Calaf (Turandot by Giacomo Puccini), as well as appearances in concerts of the festivals dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Pyotr Slovtsov. He will also return to the Krasnoyarsk stage as Calaf on March 27.
