On January 13, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present Giacomo Puccini’s opera Tosca. At least three lovely surprises are hidden for the audience in this production.
The title role of Floria Tosca will be performed by a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre Irina Vashchenko. She is known to Krasnoyarsk spectators as a performer of the part of Lisa in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades last year in April.
She collaborated with the Mariinsky Theatre and theatres in Europe as a guest soloist. Her repertoire includes leading soprano parts in operas by Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Verdi, Puccini, Offenbach, and many others. Irina took part in tours of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in the USA, South Korea, Estonia, Latvia, Israel, Greece, and the Netherlands.
The soloist of our Theatre, winner of various Russian and international competitions, tenor singer Mergen Sandanov will perform the part of the artist Mario Cavaradossi. He’s going to perform this part for the first time.
A talented conductor from China, laureate of international competitions Li Haoran will take the conductor’s stand. The maestro collaborates with the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini (Parma), German Symphony Orchestra of Berlin, Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, Saarbrücken Radio and TV Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the German Central Radio (MDR, Leipzig), George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra (Bucharest), as well as several orchestras of China. In Russia, he has already conducted the Symphony Orchestra of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg, Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre. Maestro Valery Gergiev highly appreciated the talent of his young colleague.
On January 13, the performance of Giacomo Puccini's opera Tosca will certainly be a real rejoicing for Krasnoyarsk music fans.
