Raymonda: Cast Changes and New Debuts

On November 19 and 20, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present Alexander Glazunov’s ballet Raymonda.

An important update: on November 20, Anna Kudryavtseva will replace Yekaterina Bulgutova, Honoured Artist of Russia, in the title role (the prima ballerina will now dance Raymonda on both evenings). Yekaterina is recovering from an old injury and is expected to return to the stage in December.

Several debuts are scheduled for the November 19 Raymonda. Anastasia Svetlishina and Arina Nikishaeva will debut as Raymonda’s friends, Henrietta and Clemence. All four cavaliers in the Variation of the Four Cavaliers—Nikita Vasiliev, Nikolai Dydyshko, Dashi Yerbayev, and Artur Schmidt—will also be making their debuts.

Additional first appearances include:

Vasilina Skurikina in the Grand Classical Dance Variation,

Rino Fukuoka and Alisa Shanina in the Raymonda’s Dream scene,

Nikolai Mashukov in the Saracen Dance.

Debuting in the Grand Classical Dance will be Sakiho Kobayashi, Lolita Moshkova, Alisa Shanina, and the new company member Nikolai Dydyshko.
