Baritone, People's Artist of Russia Sergei Leiferkus was in the highlight of the Gala Concert of the 4th National Onegin Opera Award that took place the day before in St. Petersburg. The famous baritone singer many a time took the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre
At the Onegin Award Gala Night (it’s worth reminding that the Krasnoyarsk Opera House won the special Theatre nomination), Sergei Leiferkus performed the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s one-act opera Mozart and Salieri. This night in the artist’s hometown is the first one in the sequence of concerts dedicated to the anniversary date. He calculated that his repertoire includes 109 opera parts in Russian, Italian, French, German, and English.
In 2019, Sergey Leiferkus took part in the events of the 10th Stars Parade at the Opera Festival that took place in the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Aida by Verdi
He performed the part of Amonasro in the Giuseppe Verdi's Aida opera, and also took part in the festival’s concerts.
Besides, the artist visited Krasnoyarsk during the 1st Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival in October 2019. At the Festival, Sergei Leiferkus performed the Sergei Rachmaninoff’s one-act operas Aleko and The Miserly Knight. He also took the stage along with the Romanian soprano world star Angela Gheorghiu at the Festival’s closing concert.
