The Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg hosted the awarding ceremony of the 4th Onegin National Opera Award. The Krasnoyarsk Opera House received a diploma in the Event nomination category for the opera Yermak by Alexander Tchaikovsky. “Our young award was founded four years ago; during these years 34 of the 40 opera theatres of Russia have started cooperating with us - from St. Petersburg and Moscow to Yakutia. This year, we received 84 applications for various nominations from 22 theatres of the country; 11 theatres were shortlisted. A lot of interesting projects appeared in the regions. And these statistics indicate that the Onegin Award has become an important event in our musical life and it fulfils its main task: to support our singers and to promote and develop the Russian opera art,” said the President of the Award, People's Artist of Russia Sergei Leiferkus who many a time performed on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
