Sergey Leiferkus highly appreciated the performance of the Krasnoyarsk vocalists at the St. Petersburg competition

The 10th International Opera Competition St. Petersburg has come to an end.Three soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre  - baritone Pavel Antsiferov, tenor Davit Yesayan, baritone Sevastian Martyniuk - successfully performed at the prestigious competition.

They reached the final rounds (there were 15 finalists in total); after the third round, they were granted diplomas of the competition, and Sevastian Martyniuk was also awarded a special prize "For Bright Artistic Interpretation and Performing Skills".The world opera star, People's Artist of Russia Sergei Leiferkus appreciated the achievements of young artists much.

The St. Petersburg International Opera Competition held every two years was dedicated to its founder, People's Artist of the USSR, Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg Irina Bogacheva (1939-2019).168 singers from Russian cities, as well as from Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Ukraine participated in the competition.

The Krasnoyarsk opera fans will have the chance to hear and see the contestants on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre very soon:Pavel Antsiferov and Davit Yesayan will debut in the main parts of Alexander Borodin's opera Prince Igor (Prince Igor and Prince Vladimir) on December 17; Sevastian Martyniuk will perform the title role in the opera Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky on December 19, 2021.
