Several chamber premieres to be held in the autumn

In the dull period of late autumn, Krasnoyarsk residents will be distracted from sad thoughts by a series of premieres of heartfelt concerts that will be held in the second floor foyer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

On October 26, the last Saturday of the month, a premiere of a themed concert from the Orchestra Formula cycle will take place. It is called The Pearls of the Neo-Baroque. Fans of the project already know the concert Pearls of the Baroque: the orchestra's soloists perform works by composers of the 17th-18th centuries. In the late 19th - early 20th centuries when the Baroque had already left the stage, interest in it started reviving: works including various elements of the Baroque era appeared. The soloists of the orchestra and the chamber ensemble conducted by Dmitri Kosolapov will introduce the pearls of this genre to the audience: the works by Edvard Grieg, Ottorino Respighi, Fritz Kreisler, Alfred Schnittke.

On November 2, the Theatre will present the concert Russia. Music. Destiny. Its programme includes Petersburg - a cycle of songs by Georgy Sviridov based on the poems of Alexander Blok; the composer himself called this work a vocal poem. The first performers of the vocal poem were Dmitri Hvorostovsky and pianist Mikhail Arkadyev: the world premiere took place in London in 1996. And in November 2024, Roman Khobta and Elena Chepurnaya (piano) will perform a touching vocal story in nine songs about the rise and tragedy of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century.

The very next day, on November 3, Anna Kiseliova invites Krasnoyarsk residents to her concert I Sing for You. The singer dedicated her new solo programme to several memorable dates of 2023 and 2024 associated with the names of writers, poets, composers who are part of world culture.
These are the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin, the 220th anniversary of Mikhail Glinka, the 180th anniversary of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff, the 100th anniversary of Viktor Astafiev, the 100th anniversary of Bulat Okudzhava, the 100th anniversary of Charles Aznavour, and others.

On November 24, the first concert from the new educational cycle Masterpieces of Chamber Music will be held; it’s entitled as Four Geniuses of Chamber Music (the author of the project is Olga Spiridonova). The orchestra artists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform the best examples of the chamber music created in various eras by composers from various countries. The heroes of the first concert of the series will be Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, César Franck, and Aram Khachaturian.

Krasnoyarsk residents can also get acquainted with Khachaturian's not chamber but the orchestral music: on October 18, 19, 20 the premiere of the ballet Spartacus will take place.
