The performers of La Traviata production within the Hvorostovsky Arts Festival have been announced

On October 24, ten soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre will present a concert performance of Giuseppe Verdi's opera La Traviata at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The event is part of the Hvorostovsky Arts Festival, which opens on October 16 - the birthday of the famous baritone singer.

The title role performer, Svetlana Lachina, is from Abakan; she studied at the Popov Academy of Choral Art and the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Centre. Between 2019 and 2022 she was an intern in the Bolshoi; since 2022, she’s been a soloist of the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre. Her repertoire comprises more than ten leading roles including Violetta in La Traviata by Verdi.

Ilya Selivanov will appear on the Krasnoyarsk stage in the part of Alfredo - he performs it on the Bolshoi stage, too. Ilya graduated from the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory. In 2017, he made his debut at the Bolshoi Theatre in the part of Prince Myshkin (The Idiot by Weinberg) and was accepted into the opera company in 2018. His repertoire includes about two dozen solo parts in Russian and European operas. Ilya Selivanov is the brother of conductor Filipp Selivanov, music director of the production of Tchaikovsky's opera The Oprichnik at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Andrei Potaturin, who performs the part of Giorgio Germont has been serving at the Bolshoi since 2019; he graduated from the Saratov Conservatory. The singer's repertoire at the Bolshoi Theatre includes about 20 solo baritone parts including Germont.

Other parts of the opera will be performed by Zlata Rubinova (Flora), Rodion Pauls (Doctor Grenville), Alexey Smirnov (Barone Douphol), Alexander Chernov (Gastone), Vladimir Komovich (Marchese d'Obigny), Anna Bauman (Annina), Ilya Legatov (Giuseppe). Vladimir Komovich is already known to Krasnoyarsk spectators: for several years, he had been a soloist at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre; and since 2017, he has been a soloist of the Bolshoi.

The Krasnoyarsk Hvorostovsky Arts Festival dedicated to the legendary opera singer Dmitri Alexandrovich Hvorostovsky will be held in the birthtown of the world-famous baritone singer between October 16 and November 2, 2024.

The Festival organizer is the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic Society with the support of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The partners are: Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre and Surikov Krasnoyarsk State Art Museum.
