The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre has welcomed new recipients of prestigious titles. Chief Executive of the Theatre Svetlana Guziy has been given the title of Honoured Figure of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region, while ballet tutor Demid Zykov has been named Honoured Artist of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

“My dear friends! Thank you so much,  for all the congratulations! For the opportunity to confidently plan and pursue big dreams, for your support in moments of doubt, for the strong partnerships, for the shoulder to lean on when needed, for the everyday work (I am truly happy to have been Chief Executive of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre for almost 16 years), and for the it's all hands on deck moments! I am incredibly grateful to the Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region, Arkady Vladimirovich Zinov, for his unwavering support and for always making sure my voice is heard! This recognition feels like a tribute to my hard work and achievements, and is a huge source of inspiration for the future! I’m folding you all in my arms and thank you again for the kind congratulations!” Svetlana Vladimirovna commented on being honoured for her contributions to the cultural sphere.

Demid Zykov has long been a celebrated artist in the Krasnoyarsk ballet company, a true favourite of the audience. In recent years, he has worked as a ballet tutor passing on his experience to younger fellow dancers. His involvement has been essential in the preparation of nearly all the ballet performances at the Krasnoyarsk Theatre.

Additionally, the title of Honoured Figure of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region has also been given to the Theatre’s close friend Lyudmila Gavrilova, Doctor of Arts and chairperson of the Music History Department at the Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts. Lyudmila Vladimirovna is well-known to audiences as the host of meet-the-artist events and as a lecturer for the project Half an Hour Before the Premiere.
