The 10th International Festival Stars Parade at the Opera to open in February

The 10th Stars Parade at the Opera will take place between February 1 and March 29. Invited stars of the world opera art are going to take part in concerts and performances.

The Festival will open with a concert program of a large scale - Gala Verdi. This will be the big day for those who are fans of Giuseppe Verdi: the most famous arias, duets, overtures from his operas will be performed. Renowned guests of the Festival - People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Leyferkus (a well-known artist living in Portugal and performing in the best theatres of the world) and Oksana Shilova (the Mariinsky Theater) - will appear on the theatre’s stage along with Krasnoyarsk artists. The conductor of the Krasnoyarsk Symphony Orchestra Vladimir Lande will come to the conductor’s stand.

In two months of the festival, artists will present the performances which are mostly loved by the Krasnoyarsk audience. On February 3, Aida by Verdi will be shown. Main parts to be performed by Svetlana Kasian (Italy) as Aida, Honoured Artist of Russia Akhmed Agadi (the Mariinsky Theatre) as Radamès, Sergei Leyferkus as Amonasro, People's Artist of Russia Irina Dolzhenko (the Bolshoi Theater) as Amneris. The orchestra will be conducted by Alberto Veronesi from Italy.

On February 16, the cast of the Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky will include Krasnoyarsk soloists Svetlana Ratslaf-Levchuk (as Liza) and Olga Basova (as the Countess). The conductor will be Alexey Nikonov, a Russian-born conductor living in Italy.

On March 24, Honoured Artist of Russia Olga Guryakova (the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre) as Tosca, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov (Krasnoyarsk) as Cavaradossi will star in Puccini’s Tosca. Conductor - Alan Freiles (Italy).

Two concerts will complete the Festival on March 28 and 29. Sergei Leyferkus and People's Artist of Bashkortostan Askar Abdrazakov (the Mariinsky Theater), well-known to Krasnoyarsk opera lovers, will take part in them. Dmitri Yurovsky from Germany is at the conductor’s stand.

“The upcoming festival in 2019 isn’t dedicated to any specific topic, unlike the previous ones. Opera lovers remember that last year all the festival’s performances were connected with the symbolic figure of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, who our theatre is named after. In 2017, we dedicated the Festival to Elena Obraztsova. This year it’s the 10th time we hold the Stars Parade festival, and this fact alone speaks volumes. Certainly, we are not going to stop there: the project will continue to develop,” - said the director of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera House Svetlana Guziy.
