Krasnoyarsk is now in pleasurable anticipation of the largest international sports events in the city’s history - the Winter Universiade - 2019, which will take place between March 2 and 12. As the director of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Svetlana Guziy said, the theatre’s team won’t stay on the sidelines.
First, soloists, choir and ballet will perform during the opening and closing ceremonies. Artists of the theatre recorded the Universiade’s anthem.
Secondly, during the Sports Games period, the theatre is going to present its best and most popular performances to the Krasnoyarsk residents and numerous guests of the city. Among them are the operas The Queen of Spades (March 4), Prince Igor (March 6), Eugene Onegin (March 9), the ballet Romeo and Juliet (March 5). Moreover, the audience will have the chance to see the ballet Raymonda by Alexander Glazunov in the classical choreography of Marius Petipa edited by Yuri Grigorovich on March 10. The ballet’s premiere took place on November 7, 2018.
