The Choreography College will present a premiere of a production about obstacles in the path of a ballet dancer’s artistic journey

At the end of May, the traditional Krasnoyarsk Choreography College graduation concerts Stars Light Here will take place on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The main night event on May 23 will be the premiere of a production to the music of composers of the 19th and 20th centuries Class Concert, or How to Become a Ballerina staged by Professor, Honoured Art Figure of the Russian Federation Alexander Polubentsev who came to Krasnoyarsk to work on this production.

The Concert Class tells a story of a little girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina. College students will demonstrate their skills and abilities by showing the audience the exercises of classical dance, adagio, jumps, finger technique, rotation class, acting, folk and historical and everyday and duet-classical dances, revealing the secrets of the profession of ballet dancers and ensemble artists.

On May 24, the Grand Pas from Ludwig Minkus' ballet Paquita will be presented in the first part of the concert.

The concert programme also includes excerpts from classical ballets (Giselle, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, Sylvia, The Flames of Paris, The Little Humpbacked Horse, La Bayadère, and others) and folk stage dances (Elbow Trick, Hlopukha, Festive Dance, Tatarochka, and round dance The Chain) performed by students of the Krasnoyarsk Choreography College.

The College invites dance fans to evaluate the achievements of its teachers, graduates, and students.
