The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre outlined the programme of the performance concert “Boris Ryauzov. The River of Life”. It comprises the artist’s favourite musical works of various genres - not only classical music but also folk and Soviet songs.

The programme includes orchestral fragments of music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Georgy Sviridov, Pietro Mascagni, Igor Luchenko, performed by the orchestra of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre conducted by Anatoly Chepurnoy. The theatre’s soloists will take the stage: People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Yefimov (with the famous song Steppe and Steppe Around), Alexander Mikhaliov (The Roads), Andrei Kolobov will perform the On the Seas, On the Waves song, and the ensemble of soprano soloists will sing the song of the Krasnoyarsk composer Alexei Maslennikov, I’m Walking in the City.

Choral ensembles are going to participate in the concert: the Siberian male choir of the Krasnoyarsk Cultural and Historical Centre Uspensky, the Pervotsvet folklore ensemble of the Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts, the female choir of the Ivanov-Radkevich College of Arts.

There will be several dance routines: The I Remember piece will be performed by students of the Krasnoyarsk Choreographic College; the adagio from the Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake will be performed by artists of the ballet company of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

A talented painter, Boris Ryauzov was as well a gifted man of letters. Excerpts from the diaries and letters of Boris Yakovlevich will be performed by Vitaliy Kozyirev and Vladimir Abakanovsky, the artists of the Pushkin Krasnoyarsk Drama Theatre. They’ll introduce thoughts and feelings of the artist to the audience.

As a part of the celebration of the great Siberian artist’s 100th anniversary, Krasnoyarsk residents can see his works at the following exhibitions: Landscapes of Memory at the Boris Ryauzov Museum, Boris Ryauzov. Painting at the Surikov Krasnoyarsk Art Museum, Ryauzov. Landscape to the End of Time at the Artist House, Ryauzov in Private Collections at the Russian Department USDV of the Russian Academy of Arts.
