The festival Language of the World on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House

Between August 19 and 31, 2022, Krasnoyarsk will host the 4th Young Spectators Theatre Festival Language of the World. Three festival productions will be held on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The show of the Yekaterinburg Young Spectators Theatre Peter Pan in Kensington Garden (August 21, 22) addresses to teenagers and family audiences. The mystery play based on the novel by James Barrie was staged by a creative team well known to Krasnoyarsk residents - director Roman Feodori, artist Daniil Akhmedov, and composer Eugenia Terekhina. The original visual, music, and plastic approach will not allow neither children nor adults stay indifferent and will get the audience thinking about the fragility of family relationships and our ties with the world.

The Perm Academic Theatre-Theatre will present the opera for dramatic artists Antigone - an essential story about power and choice staged by Roman Feodori (August 25, 26). The genre of the performance is an opera for drama artists. This is a theatre of musical drama, of serious and deep themes; it is complex and requires a universal actor using all the means of the modern stage art and related arsenal, and is based on the music by Olga Shaydullina.

The programme of the festival includes the wonderful musical Cabaret staged by the Globus Novosibirsk Academic Youth Theatre (August 29, 30). The famous Broadway musical written by John Kander was directed by Alexei Frandetti, one of the most successful local directors. Frandetti's smart, precise, anti-genre way of staging full of metaphors and subtexts conveys the feeling of an impending general catastrophe and life "on the edge", reminds of how evil comes to power and what it evokes.

Language of the World is the festival that presents the best Russian productions for family and youth audiences to the residents of Krasnoyarsk and the Region. Its idea is a modern theatre in all its diversity for a new generation of spectators. The programme of the 4th Young Spectators Theatre Festival Language of the World presents productions created by theatres from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen, and Novosibirsk. It includes headline-making productions of different genres - from drama and mystery plays to opera and musical.

This is one of the major projects of the Krasnoyarsk Young Spectators Theatre. This year, the festival is supported by the government of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
